CHICAGO -- Pitching only 8 miles from where he grew up, Mike Bolsinger had more nerves than usual when he stepped on the mound at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs. Ryan Garbutt Ducks Jersey . In front of about 20 family and friends, some of whom he hadnt seen in a long time after his family moved away when he was 10 years old, Bolsinger delivered exactly what the struggling Arizona Diamondbacks needed. Bolsinger earned his first major league win, pitching into the seventh inning and hitting an RBI single as Arizona beat the Cubs 5-2 Thursday. "Every once in a while Id look over and see my friends and family cheering me on," Bolsinger said. "It was good to get the first win, but I think it was a lot better to get a big team win, especially two in a row now. Hopefully that gets something started with this club, and we can keep it rolling." Bolsinger (1-1) allowed one unearned run and four hits in 6 2-3 innings. He struck out seven and walked two. Bolsinger was given the traditional beer shower by his teammates to celebrate his first win. Addison Reed got his fifth save in six chances with a perfect ninth, and the Diamondbacks won consecutive games for only the second time this season. After the game, Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero defended manager Kirk Gibson and general manager Kevin Towers against critical comments about them and the teams 7-18 start. Montero, unprovoked, said the staff doesnt deserve any blame for Arizonas record. "Theyve been coming here with the best attitude and the best intentions and theyve been pushing us hard, very positive," Montero said. "I wanted to say that because the blame should be on us, should be on the players. We havent played the way were supposed to play. I wanted to take that off my chest." Montero hit a two-out double in the first inning off Edwin Jackson (1-2) for a 1-0 lead. Montero also had an RBI single in the eighth off reliever Jose Veras. The Cubs got that early run back right away in the bottom half of the first. Leadoff man Emilio Bonifacio stretched a hit up the middle into a hustle double, which was reviewed when it appeared he was tagged out when he overslid the base. After a lengthy replay review, the call stood. Following a walk, Bonifacio scored on left fielder Roger Kieschnicks error on a line drive by Anthony Rizzo. The Cubs went on to load the bases with one out on a walk, but Bolsinger struck out Mike Olt looking and got Welington Castillo to fly out. "It was a tough (road) trip, going 3-4 on it," Gibson said. "Wed like to do better than that. Were in a very tough time, and were pressing very hard. It seemed like we came out more relaxed today, and theyre feeling better about themselves." Cliff Pennington walked in the Arizona second and scored on Tony Campanas double. Bolsinger singled for a 3-1 lead. "Early in the game, it felt like I was rushing a little bit," Jackson said. "It was one of those days when you feel like you dont have your best stuff, so you try to make it happen. You just have to take a step back and slow the game down. I let it come to me, tried to go out and take it." Despite throwing 40 pitches through two innings, Jackson settled down and posted his longest outing since Sept. 10. He allowed five hits while walking two and striking out four in seven innings. Rizzo hit a solo home run in the eighth, his third of the season. NOTES: Diamondbacks OF Mark Trumbo (stress fracture in left foot) was placed on the 15-day disabled list and Kieschnick was recalled from Triple-A Reno. Kieschnick made his Diamondbacks debut Thursday, starting in left field and going 0 for 4 with three strikeouts. ... OF A.J. Pollock (neck stiffness) was not in the starting lineup for a fourth consecutive game. Arizona manager Kirk Gibson said he was much improved but not where theyd like him to be. ... Cubs top pitching prospect RHP C.J. Edwards was in Chicago on Thursday to get his shoulder examined after he experienced fatigue in a bullpen session. Corey Perry Ducks Jersey . The Union looked to have grabbed a big win in the 88th minute when Amobi Okugo finally put the hosts in front. But a terrible giveaway by Union goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi handed Earnshaw the equalizer in the second minute of stoppage time, keeping the Union two points back of fifth-place Red Bull New York for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Ryan Kesler Ducks Jersey .ca. Hi Kerry, Welcome back! Im sure you heard Peter Forsbergs comments last week regarding Canadian referees in the gold medal game. Seems to me that he was questioning the integrity and impartiality.SUNRISE, Fla. - Roberto Luongo has been around the NHL for 15 seasons, and yet the veteran goalie still had a chance to see something new.Luongo and the rest of the Florida Panthers held off the Washington Capitals just enough to earn a 2-1 victory that was finally settled in a record-breaking, 20-round shootout on Tuesday night.Nick Bjugstad scored the decisive goal in the tiebreaker, beating Capitals goalie Braden Holtby on the right side with the 40th shot of the tiebreaker. The previous NHL shootout record was 15 rounds, when the New York Rangers beat Washington on Nov. 26, 2005.Ive never seen anything like that, Luongo said.No one had.The Panthers outscored the Capitals 6-5 in the tiebreaker, and the six goals were the most ever in a shootout. Jussi Jokinen, Dave Bolland, Derek MacKenzie, Sean Bergenheim and Dylan Olsen were also successful for Florida. The Panthers were down to their last shot five times and answered with a goal every time with the pressure on.The great thing is, I dont know how many times guys bailed me out where they had to score to keep it alive and they did every time. It was amazing, Luongo said.Bjugstad was able to gather himself — or at least take a deep breath — before his second attempt in the extended shootout. It helped.I kind of relaxed, took a deep breath and tried going in there with confidence, and it worked out, Bjugstad said.Bjugstad, who missed in the second round, held the puck, deked and then fired it past Holtby into the open net.Alex Ovechkin, Brooks Laich, Joel Ward, John Carlson and Brooks Orpik had shootout goals for the Capitals.MacKenzie scored in regulation for Florida, and Luongo made 23 saves.Troy Brouwer scored in regulation for Washington and Holtby stopped 28 shots. The Capitals have points in six straight games.Even though we lost, it was very entertaining, Brouwer said. We were having a little fun on the bench. We would have liked to come out on the other end of it. Anytime you go 20 shooters in a shootout, thats entertaining. The Capitals are 1-3 in shootouts this season. At first youre (thinkinng), Just get the shootout victory, but once it got to 15, 16, 17, actually it was quite fun, Capitals coach Barry Trotz said. Ryan Garbutt Jersey. You just sort of lived in the moment and hope that you got the two points. Unfortunately, we didnt. But not everyone enjoyed the extended shootout, which lasted 17 minutes, 43 seconds. It definitely wasnt fun to be a part of it, Holtby said. Being on the end that I had to make a save numerous times when the game was on the line and I didnt; thats not a fun spot to be in.The Panthers are 4-0-1 in their last five home games. The win was only their second in their past 12 games against the Capitals. The Panthers lost Oct. 18 in a shootout at Washington. The previous record for the Panthers was 11 shootout rounds on Nov. 28, 2007, also against the Capitals.Florida is 3-4 in shootouts. That was exciting. Everybody loved that, especially with the way it ended, winning a game like that with Bjugstads goal, Panthers coach Gerard Gallant said. With the score tied 1-all at 3:08 of the third, it appeared the Capitals took the lead when the puck slid by Luongo and into the net. The goal was overruled after a video review because it was determined that Laich kicked in the puck with his left skate. The Panthers took a 1-0 lead when MacKenzie one-timed a rebound at 9:36 of the first. The Capitals tried to clear from behind the net and the puck went off the skate of Floridas Scottie Upshall and out in front, where MacKenzie beat Holtby on the glove side. The Capitals tied it on Brouwers power-play goal in the second. Alex Ovechkin passed from the left circle across to Brouwer in the slot. His wrist shot beat Luongo on the glove side at 14:35 for his ninth goal of the season.I think we made some history tonight, and the chances of that happening again are one in a million, Trotz said.NOTES: Holtby made his 13th consecutive start for the Capitals. ... Panthers defenceman Dylan Olsen played his 100th NHL game. ... Upshall and Aleksander Barkov returned to the Florida lineup after missing nine and six games, respectively. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
